Costumes and strings

Is it odd that my little girl is fascinated with ropes, strings, and hanging things? I've been noticing a pattern with her tying things up and toys dangling from strings lately. I'm just hoping I don't find Noah tied up one of these times.

I dressed up the kids and took them to my office on Friday afternoon. They had decorated the cubicles in different themes like Alice in Wonderland, Willy Wonka, the movie Up, and other nursery rhymes/fairy tales. Of course they handed out candy and Emma thought it was great. She said, "Mommy this is where you work?? It's really fun and you get candy." If only work was really that fun everyday...

The Windy City

We had a fun time visiting Chicago. The kids did great on the trip there but Noah cried for quite awhile on the way home. Caleb and Katy were good hosts and we enjoyed our weekend. We had lots of yummy food including deep dish pizza, cinnamon rolls, and fajitas. Here are some pictures of our weekend.

Fascinated by the water
Help up the steps.
Shedd Aquarium
Wanted to take a picture of the "big snake" for Papa Paul.
Noah likes the turtle too.

Sharks!
"Here fishy, fishy..."

Lincoln Park Zoo-Emma's favorite was the giraffe.

Thanks for the fun weekend Uncle Caleb and Aunt Katy!

Another fun-filled weekend

Another weekend flies by! Saturday we enjoyed lunch at P&J's with Lillian and Annie. We then headed to Mom and Dad's to celebrate Eli's 2nd birthday. Sunday evening we had a fun Messerly family gathering and bonfire at Tom and Laila's.

We brought Hayli and Austin home with us Sunday night and they baby-sat for me yesterday. They will return home today and Emma is sad. It's always fun when they come and stay.

Some of Emma's latest vocabulary and phrases:

"Unbelivable!"
"Here's the deal..."
"That's ridiculous."
"You are just kidding me."
"I just realized that..."

The scary part is hearing and seeing her imitate me in many of her conversations. A good reminder of being more aware of what I do and say.

We are heading to Chicago this weekend to visit Caleb and Katy. Hope to have some good pictures to post when we return!
